I’ve been an avid video gamer since 1980 and I’m showing no signs of slowing down yet. I’m currently employed as the WiiWare Editor for NINTENDO LIFE and that takes up the majority of my time, although I do find time to toss in the occasional blog post. I’m a huge fan of retro gaming and my classic gaming rig, which consists of a PC Engine CoreGrafx 2 w/Super CD-rom attachment, a JVC X’Eye, a white Sega Saturn, and a good old Super Nintendo console, takes up much of my actual recreational playing time. Of course my Neo 25 and Taito Egret II japanese candy arcade cabinets take up some of that time as well. I’m an absolute sucker for a great shmup!
My gaming preferences lean towards the shmups, platformers, and role-playing games, but I’ll play anything if it’s good. I currently own 35 game consoles dating back to Pong and about 1430 games at last count. There’s probably a few more than that, but I haven’t cleaned out my game room closet in about two years so there’s no telling. At the end of the day I love video games and probably always will and I love writing about them almost as much as I do playing them.
